BeerFest!
Beerfest is the new Broken Lizard film, put togehter by the same guys that wrote Club Dread and the much better Super Troopers. The premise is simple – in Germany, along side Oktoberfest, an underground series of drinking games takes place where only the world’s best drinkers participate. Every drinking game you know is presumed to be an event at the fest. The five comedians known collectively as Broken Lizard become aware of the contest and spend a year training to take the whole prize. Apparently the US is left out of Beerfest because we have the weakest of international brews.
As lovers of both beer and low brow comedies this is a must see for us. The movie opens August 25th, and I heard in a few weeks the Broken Lizard crew will be in NY for a promotional tour/press junket/pub crawl. We’ll keep you posted.
