East Coat-Preppy vs. British Eccentrics Crawl – Hoboken, NJ
The birth place of Frank Sinatra, Hoboken. That’s right, April 12th we’ll be headed the other direction on the PATH to EN-Jay for a bar crawl around Washington St. The map and bar list have been finalized below. This month’s theme is a mix of aging style east-coast preppy and British eccentrics. To give you some ideas for the dress for the ladies and gents here you go:
Ladies, think Gossip Girl meets runway eccentric (note the headbands and thick rimmed glasses):
Gents, think Johnas Brothers meets Kanye West:
Bar Six in Manhattan on 6th Ave between 12th and 13th st (2 blocks from 14th St PATH train and VF & L trains, 1 Ave and 2 blocks from 14th st. 1,2,3 trains). Bar 6 opens at 11 am, plan to be there before 1 pm to make the tip over to Hoboken, good food, coffee and brews for those that want to start early.
Scotland Yard is our first stop off the PATH, being a blues bar and that they haven’t updated their site since 2005 don’t expect much early on here. We’ll move on to Slammin Saturdays at the Shannon and we’ll have $2 drafts and pitchers of Miller Lite. Black Bear is a grill and bar with make your own bloody’s bar, $3.00 killians and sam adams, and I hear they get some serious games of Rock-Paper-Scissors going on. Duffy’s, another Irish pub (get used to em out here) with the standards and cheap “cheap beers”. Louise & Jerry’s is next with a good juke, pool table, and duck hunter for you diehard hunters. We’ve hit tikki bars before, but the Bahama Mama’s takes in some of the EN-Jay flavor with all the top 40 hits n hip hop you can handle. Specials for the hour we are there: $1 Drafts, $3 Frozen Drinks, $3 Specialty Drinks & $10 Buckets of Corona – get your voodoo on! Right across the street is a new spot as of last year – the Four L’s or four Lorenzo’s are known well for their square pizza but we’ll be at the bar and see how heavy their pour is. Lana Lounge is our first bar back on River St. – don’t fill up on too much euro-trash (redbull vodkas) there’s still 2 more to go; but at least we’ll get here early for the Dance Factory! Taking it down a notch, The Dubliner’s is our last Irish pub with DJs on sat night and a 2nd floor roof top. Last stop on this train, is Texas Arizona. They finally have the outside cafe open this April but keep it together all, we still have some after parties to hit after back on the PATH.
