The Rail Maritime and Transport (RMT) union in London, England has imposed a ban of open containers of alcohol on public transportation (the rail, buses, the Docklands Light Railway and trams); announced by London Mayor Boris Johnson and implemented on June 1st.

As a protest, several people organized the Circle Line Cocktail Party for the eve of the ban to have a massive “drink-in” on the underground subway lines. “It was sticking two fingers up at the Establishment, making a small political point, catching up with mates and having a giggle.” said one reveler.
