Beer on the Pier – NY
This Saturday is the third annual New York Beer on the Pier festival. The event allows patrons to taste about 40 brews from majors such as Guinness, Singha, HB Hofbrauhaus and Redhook, local big dogs Heartland and Brooklyn, to smaller brewers such as Keegan Ales and Zyweic Porters. The event is held on Pier 94 over the Hudson River (711 12th Ave) with two sessions -12 – 4 PM for the day drinkers and 6 PM to 10 PM for the evening pre-partiers. $44 duckets a session, you’re paying for the privilege to taste all the brews at hand (that you can muster), a few live bands and annoying DJ’s and just enjoy the day with your drinking buddies (hope it doesn’t rain like last year). It’s a rather commercial mix of popular, international and micro brew winners with not much of focus on local brewers or up and comers but should be a great weekend non the less…
