The May Stall…

New York pub crawls: Because your regular drinking dens are like following the spin-dry cycle

The May Stall…

So the GPC crew has been slacking off on putting together the events we all know and love for binge drinking, NYC bar touring and over all just a great time out. I know our last event was over whelming and unfortunately I missed the whole weekend, dieing on the couch of a flu… which I’m still getting over.

May is a mile stone for us, being that we are now one year old and still don’t have a ting of liver cancer yet. Unfortunately we do not have full event schedule planned for this month but just a few parties and “minor ripppers” to use a friend’s term.

Cinco de Mayo is hear and on a Saturday no less… we’ve got a small private roof top party for the friends of friends that we know. If you’d like to attend and won’t pee on the rug we’ll send you the location and “rules” (they may involve the new comer to wear a sombrero and not shots at the pinata for you).

The 13th would be the ideal day, however, the majority of the organizers are not around town and we have decided to avoid the Memorial Weekend as a potential crawl date – come on who’s not going to SoBe/Vegas/OC/Mexico or somewhere else not in Gotham…

This leaves us the 20th and yet another problem. This is the weekend of the subway series and if any local here is not a fan of baseball, today you become one. Mets-Yanks arguments break out the week before and as the Yanks continue their slide, the Met’s have picked up a few more wagon followers heading to the top of the NL East. We’ve planned more of a “Stall” than a crawl… where we’re all planning on heading out to the Bohemian Hall Beer Garden for an afternoon of brews and goulash or schnitzel.

This place is landmark and as they boast, the last original remaining Beer Garden in all New York City (although be it much smaller, the folks at Lorely would beg to differ they are the last). We’ll be starting with a small group around 12, because that’s when they open and then heading over to Shea Stadium for the game. Several have tickets but it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t head down and tailgate with the fans or try to scalp your way through.

So unfortunately there is no crawl this month, however, we’ve already planned the start of the next for June 16th. Mark your calendars and we will be posting earlier news on this one… well better than usual!
